Join us for Image Being Artist Evening. During this free, open evening in celebration of the exhibition Image Being, artists bring the theme of curiosity and a collective vision of contemporary photography to life in Museum’s galleries through music, dance, conversation, and performance.

Programme
17.10–17.30 Solo performance in the exhibition space by dance artist Sonjis Laine.
Solo performance in the exhibition space by dance artist Sonjis Laine is happening in dialogue with Veera Nivalainen’s body of work Eel Elegies. The performance delves deeper into the waters of eels, affective body, other-material encounters, landscape, as well as imagination and speculation.
Nivalainen and Laine have been collaborating actively since 2019, focusing on themes of porous body, emotional (bodily) knowledge and care, as well as how might their different disciplines together enrich these discourses.
17.30–18.45 Slow Art tour with the artists
Saedeh Doostbekheir, Jahanzeb Haroon, Aleksi Malinen, Veera Nivalainen, Nikolas Palonen, Hannele Peltorinne and Nat Setthana.
Talking about an artwork with someone else can open our eyes to new details and reveal things we did not see at first. These tours will help you to slow down and spend time with selected artworks from the Image Being exhibition together with the artists and discussing them with others in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
The tour is in Finnish and English.
