“PEEK! Yes you, we know you want to. No, not at us, at this! Back home in Gothenburg we’ve worshipped the feet of the high priestess curator, pissed on the floor of the institution and trashed the art world's obsession with thesauruses. Now it's your turn Helsinki, we hope you're ready at the Finnish Museum of Photography!”
In this performance Status Queer is putting their outrageous drag characters Sinfluencer and The Meatbaby to work to get you peeking, playing and screeching in the gallery space. Together we’ll be exploring Emma Sasrpaniemi’s exhibition Honey Crunch.

ABOUT PEEK!
“We’re sick of it. We’re sick of the snobbery and the wankery oozing out of art museums and galleries — and luckily we’re not the only ones. That’s why some of the good one’s have asked us to come shake it up with our performative tour PEEK! Live. PEEK! is a project using drag as a medium to break the rules using caricature, ritual and play.
But it's not just us, we’re getting you involved too. These exhibitions are for ALL of us, not for the selected few. So let's get together and be just a little inappropriate in the art space – don’t worry we give you *full* permission.”
PEEK! Live is a part of Status Queer’s project PEEK! — where we capture reactions to our outrageous drag characters in public spaces in collaboration with photographer Elsa Groener. Gothenburg-based artist duo Status Queer is a multidisciplinary collaboration between Kolbrún Inga Söring and Sam Message combining performance, social practice and spatial transformation.
