The dream of curating an exhibition of sprawling and diverse material – the photographic art of the 1990s in the museum's collections – is finally coming true. The exhibition explores how photographic expression changed in the 1990s and the different ways in which it broke away from the modern. The exhibition examines how and where photography sought to make an impact in the 1990s, with themes including social critique, gender roles and identities, ecological issues, subjectivism and early digitalism. The exhibition also explores why the themes of 90s photography are still very relevant and relevant today.
