Tuomo Manninen (b. 1962) has been photographing various groups around the world since the 1990s. In his pictures, the group consists of parents on the edge of a sandpit, actors in a theatre or even tram drivers. Manninen is interested in the things that create a group. Group portraits are linked to the image of time, social norms and views of the power structures of society. Manninen's images also reveal images of work – especially work that is often invisible to us.
